Local World has launched an interactive election survey <\/a>which tells readers which parties they are closest to.<\/p>\n

The web app invites readers to share their views on a range of issues, including tax, immigration, Europe, public spending and the party leaders. They can also explore each party’s stance on 30 hot-button topics.<\/p>\n

Digital content director Steve Anglesey said: “Our Election Compass will help readers navigate the closest race in living memory and give our titles regionalised insights into how the campaign is developing in their constituencies.”<\/p>\n

Now live on all Local World websites, the Election Compass was produced in partnership with academics at the University of Exeter and Swansea University and digital research company Kieskompas<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Trinity Mirror’s regional titles have published an online tool<\/a> providing a wealth of official statistics and commentary for every constituency in the country.<\/p>\n

Find My Seat is Trinity Mirror’s latest cross-title election initiative, following the launch of local manifestos across 26 titles last month.<\/p>\n

Readers enter their postcode into the widget to produce a raft of information about their constituency, including who the election candidates are, the history of the seat, and how it compares with the rest of the country on a range of categories.<\/p>\n

The statistics have been divided into four main groups – economy, cost of living, immigration and pensions – each containing a selection of various relevant measures.<\/p>\n

The figures have all been taken from a range of official sources including the Office for National Statistics, the Department for Work and Pensions and the Land Registry.<\/p>\n

Sarah Lester, who is heading Trinity Mirror’s regional election coverage, said:  “It’s our job to provide our readers with everything they need to know ahead of polling day. We are determined to look at new ways to make this important information accessible.<\/p>\n

“Find My Seat is one of a number of services we’re rolling out to engage and inform readers ahead of the General Election.<\/p>\n

“Our Manifestos project showed people tend to place local issues at the top of their voting agendas so it’s even more important we arm voters with key information about their constituencies.<\/p>\n
