The Local Media Works Awards which challenges media planners to answer a brief set by a major advertiser has partnered with Airbus for the third annual Awards.<\/p>\n
By answering the brief set by Airbus and entering the Local Media Works Awards, media planners will have the opportunity to win the award’s grand prize of £1,000 of Apple computer products.<\/p>\n
The brief will ask entrants to promote Airbus as an employer of choice in local communities, building on its work in those communities. The campaign must have local and regional media at its heart and innovative thinking about the opportunities afforded by local media.<\/p>\n
A judging panel chaired by former Starcom Mediavest Group UK chief executive Stewart Easterbrook will assess entries from across the media industry for the awards which are organised by Local Media Works.<\/p>\n
The awards will cover five categories; best original thinking, best strategy, best use of content, best use of local targeting, and best use of multi-platform.<\/p>\n
Craig Nayman, Local Media Works chairman and Archant chief commercial officer, said: “I am delighted to see Local Media Works Awards run for a third year and am looking forward to seeing media planners thinking hard about what local media can do for national advertisers.<\/p>\n
“Local media is read by 40 million people every week in print and online and it will be interesting to see how entrants make use of this proposition to provide highly trusted engagement with local communities.<\/p>\n
“Last year we had a phenomenal number of high quality of entries and I hope to see even more this year. The LMWAs have become an important date in the media planners calendar and I hope everyone saves the Awards date of 9 November in their diaries.”<\/p>\n
